Green Loans are available to churches who are member of the SNU Trust. They are designed to allow churches to make improvements to their buildings that will benefit the environment.
The loans can be used for any project that improves your building and the environment. You could insulate your church by replacing your windows, upgrade your boiler to something more efficient or even add solar panels to your roof.
Loans are available up to £2,000 at a fixed interest rate of 3%
The loan can be used to provide the matched funding required by the SNU when applying for their Church Improvement Grants

If your church wishes to apply for a Green Loan, you must ensure that you get permission from your members, even if the total expenditure on the project is below the £4,000 threshold. This is because the membership must give consent for the church to borrow funds.
The process the committee needs to follow is laid out in Church Rules but there are full instructions included in the Application pack.
If your church would like to talk to the SNU Trust to check your suitability for a Green Loan, or would like an Application Pack, then call the Trust office or Contact Us.
